The Alpujarras


We cover most of the rural parts of Eastern Andalusia and occasionally venture further afield for very special properties. Below you will find a brief description of the principal areas in which we work. Each has its own character, different scenery and, often, different types of property. Home to the Alhambra, Spain’s most visited monument and to the Albayzín, its rival city in the 10th to 15th Centuries, both of which are declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. We offer for sale properties in the historic barrios of the Albayzin, Sacromonte, the gypsy quarter famous for its flamenco dances and Realejo, originally the Jewish quarter which hugs the hillsides below the Alhambra, as well as selected properties in other parts of the historic centre of Granada.


Lecrin ValleyProtected by the Sierra Nevada to the north, the Lecrin Valley enjoys a micro climate in which oranges, lemons and other citrus fruits flourish. Positioned midway between the city of Granada, the sea and the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada the Valley has a long history of welcoming foreigners.



AlpujarrasLoved by painters, writers, musicians and artists of every type since the early 19th Century, the spectacular landscapes of the Moorish Alpujarras have inspired generations of foreigners to come and live in the soft mountain air. We have two agencies in the Alpujarras one based in Orgiva covering the Poqueira Valley, the area surrounding Orgiva and the spa town of Lanjarón and the other based in Cadiar covering the Eastern Alpujarras.


Costa Blanca IslandAs its name suggests the area inland from Almuñecar enjoys a sub-tropical climate. Its steep hillsides and valleys are covered in avocados, mangos, custard apples and other tropical fruits and the coast is only a few kilometres away. Also included in this area are the three mountain villages of Los Guajares.


Poniente de GranadaStretching from Loja in the West, Alhama de Granada in the South and Algarinejo in the North through to Moclin in the East, the Poniente is a richly varied and historic agricultural area with beautiful scenery, marked by rolling hillsides and high mountains, olive trees and rocky outcrops.


Southern JaenFamous for the quantity and quality of its olives the charming countryside of gentle hillsides covered in the ubiquitous olive trees surrounding the attractive market town of Alcalá la Real has long proven popular with foreign residents.


Lake of AndaluciaNestling in the valley of the Rio Genil is Andalucia’s largest inland waterway. Almost 30 kms long this large and beautiful lake is dominated by the pretty hilltop town of Iznajar. Many cortijos in the surrounding countryside enjoy spectacular lake views.



Malaga InlandBehind the attractive city and port of Málaga lies a rural hinterland typified by rolling hills dotted with whitewashed cortijos, the Lake District of Andalucia near Álora and the five Villanuevas. Central to this area is the beautiful and historic city of Antequera. An ideal area for those wanting to get away from it all whilst retaining easy access to the city.
