Description

Renovated Three-Bedroom Village House with Land and Terraces in Alcutar

Situated on the outskirts of Alcutar, close to Bérchules, this beautifully reformed detached house offers character, comfort and generous outdoor space. Both villages are within walking distance and provide everyday amenities including small shops, cafés and local services.

The current owners have renovated the property to a very high standard while preserving its traditional Alpujarran style. There is vehicle access and parking nearby, although some village streets are typically narrow.

The House

The property benefits from three separate entrances — one at street level to the first floor and two at ground floor level to the rear.

One ground floor entrance opens directly into a farmhouse-style kitchen with fitted wooden wall and base units and a range-style cooker. From here, you enter the spacious sitting and dining room, featuring a striking stone wall and arches leading to a cosy snug with wood burner — naturally cool in summer and welcoming in winter.

At the opposite end of the main living area, another arch leads to a generous hall with staircase access and built-in storage.

Upstairs, a wide landing gives access to:

  • Three bedrooms

  • Family bathroom with bathtub and corner shower

The principal bedroom is particularly spacious and includes:

  • Door to the terrace

  • En-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower

The second bedroom comfortably accommodates a double bed and additional furniture, while the third is also a good-sized double.

The house retains exposed beamed ceilings and traditional details throughout. It benefits from central heating and is connected to all mains services.

Outdoor Space & Land

The upper terrace runs the full width of the property and is partly covered, enjoying spectacular views along the valley and surrounding mountains. The lower terrace, also partly covered, connects via stone steps to a lawned garden.

The remaining land is well maintained, partly grassed and partly terraced, planted with a variety of trees and shrubs. Mature planting provides privacy and several secluded areas to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

A renovated former animal building is currently used for storage but could easily become a charming summerhouse, studio or workspace.

Alcutar, Bérchules & the Surroundings

Alcutar and neighbouring Bérchules form part of the municipality of Alpujarra de la Sierra, known for its peaceful mountain setting and authentic character. Within walking distance you will find local shops, café-bars and everyday essentials.

Bérchules offers a health centre, primary school and municipal swimming pool in summer, while the nearby regional centre of Cádiar provides supermarkets, secondary schooling, banks and further medical services. The Mediterranean coast can be reached in around an hour, and the city of Granada is accessible for wider cultural, educational and transport connections.
